Helston Athletic earned their first league win of the campaign after defeating Wellington 3-2 at Kellaway Park. Rubin Wilson gave the Blues the lead at the break from the spot before Miles Quick levelled within a minute of the turnaround. Wilson restored the hosts’ lead on the hour before Rikki Shepherd fired in a third, with Sully McKenna halving the deficit late on for the Tangerines, who had Sam Towler and Nathaniel Groom sent off in stoppage time.

Falmouth Town recorded their first Western League win since 1983 in sensational style as they put four goals past Clevedon Town at Bickland Park. James Swan got things going with a fine finish before Tim Nixon lashed home a second. Alex Wharton netted the third from close range before Nixon fired in the fourth from a free-kick as Town completed the scoring before half-time.

Harry Jeffery scored an 86th-minute winner as Saltash United edged past Buckland Athletic 1-0 at Homers Heath. It looked set to end goalless until substitute Jeffery converted Alex Cairo’s cross four minutes from time, with the Ashes taking their tally to seven points from three games.

Millbrook are only one point behind the Ashes after they earned their second win of the season at home to Bitton. Dave Youlden nodded the hosts in front at Jenkins Park before Sean Thomson fired in the second shortly before the break.
