Season ticket scheme aims to combat cost of living

Penzance AFC have launched what the club believe is a unique season ticket offer to help fans cope with the soaring cost of living, and hopefully attract new customers.

A season ticket at Penzance, who play in the South West Peninsula League, offers individual supporters a discount compared with paying for every match on the gate, as one would expect.

However, what sets the product apart is that it also admits the purchaser’s nearest and dearest for no extra cost.

All season tickets will admit the holder plus another person of the same price category from the same address. Better still, the full adult ticket also admits two under-16s, again if they live together.

The Magpies’ adult season ticket costs £75 and the concession (over-65s, 14-16 year olds and full-time students) costs £50. The season ticket also includes home cup ties and friendlies – as well as free travel on the club coach if one is booked for away games.

Committee member James Wright, who is co-ordinating the scheme, said: “We would love to see more couples and families at Penlee Park. With the cost of living going through the roof, we feel this initiative offers local families an affordable afternoon out.

“Of course the big winners will be couples who already attend every game together – they will be paying less than half what they used to. But what a great way to say thank you so those regulars who stuck with us through what was a difficult 2021/22 campaign.”

Tickets can be ordered by emailing pzafcticketing@gmail.com, bought online at http://www.penzanceafc.com/matchtickets or picked up in person from the club at pre-season friendlies or during sales windows that will be advertised on the club’s various media channels.

This summer has seen Adrian Ferrell and John McCallum take the helm at Penlee Park. The new managerial duo have made a number of new signings and agreed a player partnership with Toolstation Western League neighbours Helston Athletic, so hopes are high at Penzance for a successful 2022/23 season.
